About Me
My name is Jayson, and I’m a Seattle native who found my way to the Florida Panhandle in 2024, trading gray skies for a slower pace and a little more breathing room. I’ve always been creative—drawing and painting growing up—but sewing didn’t enter the picture until life forced a pivot.
When COVID hit, I lost my job as an inventory manager at a dry-cleaning warehouse, and suddenly had a lot of quiet time at home. I bought my first sewing machine—a simple $100 Walmart model—and started sewing face masks for people. That quickly turned into custom designs with logos and artwork, and before long, I was sewing tote bags for friends.
What began as a hobby slowly grew into something more. At my first craft fair, I had about ten half-finished bags available. Customers chose the exterior they loved, and I completed the interiors afterward. That experience sparked a wave of custom orders, and soon I was shipping bags across the country. I became known for my craftsmanship, attention to detail, and thoughtful designs.
Like many small makers, I learned some lessons the hard way. After getting sick with COVID and falling far behind on orders, I made the difficult decision to pause the business and reset. That time gave me clarity about what matters most to me now: my physical health, mental well-being, and a sense of calm.
Today, I’ve reopened my studio in Florida—on my terms. I’ve made hundreds of bags over the years, reinvesting everything back into better tools, materials, and skills. I still create one-of-a-kind pieces, with a focus on ready-made designs and a limited number of custom orders so I can maintain quality without burnout.
I currently make handbags, tote bags, accessories, and select home goods, with plans to expand thoughtfully over time. I’m also beginning to work with leather, including small leather goods and restoration. If you have a well-loved leather piece that needs new life, I’m happy to help—just reach out for pricing.
Every piece I make is guided by quality materials, careful construction, and an eye for detail. I work at a sustainable pace, set realistic timeframes, and believe in under-promising and over-delivering.
Outside the studio, you’ll usually find me baking (I make excellent muffins), reading, or enjoying the outdoors. I prefer a slower, more relaxed pace of life. I love talking shop, and I always welcome feedback, ideas, and questions.
Thanks for being here, and thanks for supporting my handmade, small business. I am truly grateful.
